INVESTMENT CRITERIA

We are looking to acquire companies with $500K - $10MM in EBITDA and are founder owned or family run businesses.

Our main focus is on family or founder-owned businesses situated in the Northeast and Southeast regions. While we are open to all industries, we are particularly keen on services, digital marketing agencies, publishing houses, hospitality, and SaaS. We prefer businesses with contracted and recurring revenue streams, backed by solid assets, existing management structures, and we specialize in making control equity investments.

  • Company Size

    Companies with $500K - $10MM in EBITDA (profits) and $2MM - $50MM in revenue. Primarily with a minimum of 20% margins. 

  • Buying Locations

    We are located in Boston and Charlotte and are looking for companies in North America, primarily in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

  • Existing Management

    We strongly prefer deals that include an established management team or some existing management depth, allowing us to partner and grow together.

  • Scalable Growth Opportunities

    Equity Capital Ventures seeks deals with scalability or untapped growth potential.

  • Strong Asset Base

    We prefer businesses that have a robust mix of assets on their balance sheet.

  • Recurring Revenue Component:

    We prefer deals that have some form of contractual, predictable, or recurring revenue.

  • Control and Ownership

    Equity Capital Ventures wants to acquire a minimum of 51% of the company, preferably the entire business.

  • Industry Agnostic

    We primarily focus on services, digital marketing agencies, publishing houses, hospitality, and SaaS companies, but we are broadly industry-agnostic.

  • Founder or Family Operated

    Our method typically appeals most to founders, entrepreneurs, or family-run businesses seeking the perfect long-term home for their company.

  • Owner Commitment

    We seek to collaborate with business owners who are dedicated to their company and employees and are willing to "phase out" over time both operationally and financially.
